Baked apples with marzipan filling
Serves 4
- 4 large apples
- 50 g marzipan
- 3 tbsp dried cranberries or cherries
- 4 dried figs
- 3–5 tbsp cream
- Cashew nuts
- Icing sugar, ice cream or vanilla sauce for serving
Remove apple cores. Grate the marzipan for the filling. Chop the dried berries and mix with the marzipan. Add some cream and stir until the mixture is smooth. Put some of the mixture in each hole in the apples and sprinkle some cashews on top. Bake in the oven at 200 °C for 20 to 30 minutes, cover with foil if needed. To serve, sprinkle some icing sugar on the apples and serve with ice cream or vanilla sauce.
